Support:
A client has reported that their Financial Reporter displays the following message: "An attempt was made to access an unnamed file beyond its end". This happens immediately upon opening FR and before opening any statement.

It appears that a support file is damaged. I can delete one of GLACCGRP, GLATREE, GLRPTGRP or GLRPTTXT but I'm hoping that you can narrow down the problem. It's unfortunate that it's an "unnamed file"!

I will look into what this might be.

What are the file sizes for the above? Are any of them 0 bytes?

Not a message from Financial Reporter:

It’s a Windows message there is no text “An attempt was made to access” in any source code for the Financial Reporter.

Somewhere an error has occurred that was unexpected and FR or ADS32 has asked Windows to convert the error into text.

If the data is available and we can reproduce it might be possible to expand on the message or workout another solution.

The title bar on the dialogue box says "Adagio Financial Reporter" but from your note, the underlying problem could be outside of FR.

I'll do more investigation and update this thread.

I've found that the problem is isolated to one dataset. I'll look at it in more detail when I'm there next week. Apart from the error message, everything works properly.

If we can get the data and reproduce the error we may be able to fix it.
