Is this for all Sample financial reports or only for one or some reports? I wonder if the ones with long file names are the ones you are having trouble with...

There should be no problems in opening the samples. If you do have problems for all of them, I would guess that a problem has occured during the creation of those particular file. Try sample data to see if those files are openable and if so, you can copy them to your live data directory; you have to change the file extensions from SAM to your data extension.

What version of ledger are you running? You will see this message if you try and open a specification created with a later version of the Financial Statement designer than you have installed.

Somehow some sample reports from a later version of Adagio Ledger have been installed on your machine. You will be unable to open those reports with the version you are running (which is quite old). There have been many, many improvements to the Financial Reporter since V6.8A - it is well worth the price of the upgrade.

What are the names of the specifications you are trying to open? I will see whether we have earlier versions of them I can e-mail you.
