A recently converted client has a huge supply of Dot Matrix Forms.

We have created a new form 8.5 x 7.0 inches in the Print Server Properties, and that works fine. The problem is that when we assign the "Cheques" form inside Adagio Payables in the maintain the cheque specs, and save it, it does not save when we attempt to print.

Ie. going back into the cheque spec form after saving the printer settings, the custom form size is saved.

Printing to the screen displays the proper form size, but as soon as you go to print to the printer, an 8.5 x 11.0 inch form is printed. Going back into the properties of the form shows the form as Letter.

We have used this same technique in Advantage and Simply, and it works fine. Does not appear to be a Windows XP issue, but more of an Adagio/XP issue.

The same form prints fine from 98 Client with the custom form setting, but we are trying to eliminate the older machines.

Normally with a custom form length, you must set it in both the Adagio specification and the printer driver (perhaps by creating a second copy of the driver and making it the default).

Out of curiousity, how many is "a huge supply", and hour many hours of consulting could we save by recycling them .

In addition to Andrew's comments, what happens when you press the Form Feed on the printer? Does it eject 11 inch forms? If so, then this is something else you have to set up to accommodate custom page sized documents on a dot matrix printer. Windows sends a 'new page' command to the printer, but if the printer wants to eject 11"...
