Hi

We use the G/L 9.0D - I've been working in Maintain Financial Reports.
Last week, my "Account Data" tree was not being read properly - my Consultant contacted Tech Support and they had him do something to a data file such as GL?TREE.XXX, to force the program to update the file.
Now my "Statement Group" tree does not seem to be reading properly - none of my statement groups are available.
Hoping for a similar quick fix.
Thanks

You need to find a backup of your data and locate the following 4 files:

GLACCGRP with a size < 20 KB
GLATREE with a size < 200 KB
GLRPTGRP with a size < 20 KB
GLRPTTXT with a size < 20 KB

Once backup copies of the files are located use them with a copy of your live data and see if your Statements Groups come back.

Never perform this type of testing with your "production" data!

I've made a backup, and tried copying older backup files into the backup I just made, and then tried out that data. Nothing happened.

I then re-named the 4 files in the backup, and tried again. The statement group tree is now available, but none of the actual groups I had are available - i.e. I can set up new groups, and have to start from scratch.

I have also tried to replace each file - one at a time.
My existing groups do not seem to come back, although I do get access to the tree.

Hi, Marc,

It appears that, like your account data tree before, your statement groups had become corrupt. When you renamed the file, GLRPTGRP.xxx (where 'xxx' is your 3-character data extension), the file was automatically recreated the next time the Financial Reporter was opened. It's a brand new file, though, and none of your old groups would be in it.

Your old statement groups were no longer usable. The solution is either to recreate your statement groups in the new file or to locate a prior backup of the file (from before the file became corrupt) and restore it to your data folder.

You may want to contact your Adagio Consultant for assistance with this.
