When retrieving batches from AR into JC, is there a way to stop payments from being imported with the billings?

I'm curious. Why wouldn't you want the payments made toward a job related invoice in AR retrieved to the job in JobCost? Retrieving the payments informs you of want it still owing on bills that have been invoiced.

The short answer is no. But the workaround is to: 1) enter your billings and retrieve them into JC and post, 2) then enter your payments and retrieve into JC and delete the billings batch

I currently use Crystal reports that runs a report using the revenue and costs details from JC for analysis on a per job basis. If payments are imported into JC they are added to the revenue total, therefore distorting the gross profit margins.

Hi Steve, thank you for your response. I do currently use the procedure you have suggested but it is time consuming and can lead to human error of deleting revenue amounts. The program will often give me an error message when trying to delete a line item in JC……was just hoping for a solution.

If you are using Crystal Reports to create Job Cost analysis reports you should be able to exclude the payments from the revenue calculation.
