A client wants to color code the customer list based on YTD sales - one color for <10K YTD sales, a second color for 10K to 20K and a third color for >20K. They want the color to change "automatically" when the next level is reached.

Is this doable in Adagio?

They also don't want the color to immediately reset upon year-end but let's deal with that as a secondary issue.

They also want the system to note the date the level (color) changed, but that's yet another issue.

Thanks

Steve

Steve:

Doable = Yes. Practial = No.

Needs to have DC run automatically every night to update the color codes or do it manually.

The problem is that the year to date stats are not rolling and for what your client is looking for a rolling year to date sales would be more appropriate.

I don't believe there is any audit trail to flag when the color changed.

I'll bet I can use GridView to create an importable file to refresh the style codes at the customer level, based on rolling sales, and even date-stamp into an optional field.

However, I can't figure out a way to refresh alerts. If that's not possible, why not?

Alerts? Who said anything about alerts?

You can import both the Automatic and Manual styles into the customer record. Imports can be automatically run on startup. You could also create a note about the change of status and import that at the same time.

So yes, this can be almost completely automated with a GridView View.

You could also implement this with 3 Filters with different Priorities.

Code:
Name Priority Style
YTD Sales > 0 OR 100 Green
  LY Sales > 0
YTD Sales > 10,000 OR 50 Yellow
  LY Sales > 10,000
YTD Sales > 20,000 OR 1 Blue
  LY Sales > 20,000

The color would be updated each time the DIC was run, either through DataCare or within the application. Editing a customer would also update the color when the record was saved.

Of course, the Filter approach references the YTD Invoices within the customer record, so it is a little more coarse an indicator than you can accomplish with GridView.

Hi Andrew

You confirmed the conclusion I had already reached and stated.

I was on to another request the client had which I didn't mention at first, how to refresh alerts based on certain criteria. I don't see a way to do it using the import function.

Is there a reason why Softrak didn't include that functionality? Are you planning to?

No one had asked for it. Now they have.

Certainly it will be considered for the next upgrade to Receivables.

Here are a couple of recent threads lamenting the lack of the ability to export/import alerts or additional comments, although neither is a specific request.

I know about those requests made recently. I didn't mean to imply yours was the first request, just that it had only been requested recently.
