When trying to edit the control account set in Payables, we are getting a message saying:

Uncleared posting journals and/or Check Register exist.
Control account set cannot be modified.
Print and clear all posting journals and the Check Register.

We have checked everywhere we can think of and cannot find any posting journals or check registers to print. Every item we tried said there was nothing to print.

We ran a data integrity check and it fixed some errors but we still can't get in to change the control account set. Can you advise on what we are missing or what else we can try?

We have confirmed that if we restore a prior backup we don't get that message but I would like to avoid that if possible so we don't have to re-do a bunch of work.

Thanks,
Laura

slight update...

When I go to Post/Print Manual Check Posting Journal a window pops up that shows a Posting Sequence range of 37 to 39 but when you select Print or Preview we get a message that says "There is no manual check posting journal to print in the specified posting sequence range"

I tried changing the posting sequence range to several different things (1-999, 1-999999999, 38-38, etc) and then I either get a message that there is nothing to print or I get a message that it is out of the range 37-39.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Laura

Hi Laura,

If you are able to open the Manual Check Posting Journal screen to see a sequence range of 37-39, but printing that range says that there is nothing to print, the problem is that the system data and the posting journal file APPOSTMC is out of synch. The system thinks that there should be a posting sequence range from 37 to 39, but the APPOSTMC file doesn't have any records with a posting sequence with any of these numbers.

The usual reason for this is that the the posting journal file APPOSTMC was deleted outside of Adagio, such as from Windows Explorer. Or the AP data was restored from a backup but this file was not restored properly. Or posting the batches for sequences 37 to 39 was not able to write to the posting journal file because it was locked on the server. Or...

The solution is to create a new batch (and a dummy entry, for 0.00) and post it. This will write a new entry to the posting journal that will be in synch with the system. Then you should be able to print the journal for the entire range and purge.
