Dear Forum,

I have a Mystery which has bold me for 6.

On the same computer, when i log in as Admin Invoice module is saying version 9.0A (100503) which is fine.

However the clerk at the same machine log in is getting version
8.1B (090508).

I copied the QI directory from server to c: drive but the in compatible error still exists.

Need the Wisdom of the forum to fix this one.

The user do not have rights to install programs etc so i upgraded the machine using the Administrator's log in.

W2K Server 2003 - Workstation XP

Thanks in advance.

Hi Edward,

There is information stored in the Windows registry (including the Adagio version), and I suspect that it is different for the clerk as compared to you. The clerk needs to temporarily be granted installation rights so that they can run the workstation setup and update the Windows registry, then those rights can be taken away.

Just realized that the (Quick Invoice) QI directory was replaced with a INVOICE directory for version 9. I had created the shortcut to the old directory.

Mystery solved. When you have clients, standing over you this is the type of silly mistakes which always prop up.

Thanks, have more technical query but I will put in another new thread.

Glad you found the solution.

One more note for others who might not have found this. If XP users place a shortcut to and Adagio module on their task bar, and the install an upgrade. Windows helpfully makes the shortcut change to follow the EXE file to its backup location resulting in the wrong version starting.
