I question the integrity of the batch in Adagio Invoices before posting. What does the Invoice Posting Journal show from Invoices? If you found that batch totals did not equal the sum of the invoices, something incorrect occured during batch entry.

If you find only 30 invoices listed, to coincide with what the Historical listing and the sub-ledger batch has, and there actually were more than 30 invoices in the batch, you may have to investigate further. If you have a backup of your data before posting (always a good idea, and easy to do with Adagio - directly from the File menu), take a look to see if data integrity is clean in Invoices.

I don't believe the problem is related to the version of Adagio Ledger, especially since you only see 30 documents in Invoices History.

If you have multiple users entering invoices, make sure that for Win2000 or XP machines, Opportunistic locking is disabled - this Windows setting causes havoc for multi-file processes such as batch entry.

The answer to 'Will this happen again?' really depends on your environment and data stability. If opportunistic locking is not disabled, the answer almost assuredly will be Yes.
