I am running reports using statement groups in Financial Reporter. It seems that the "Skip inactive departments" works when All Departments is selected but not when a group of departments are selected. Is this correct or am I doing something wrong?
Thank you,
Rachel

Hi Rachel,

I'm confused. Surely "Skip inactive departments" only makes sense when you have asked for a statement to print for "All departments"? Otherwise, if you have asked for a specific department, then you must have a reason to be requesting that department's statement, regardless of whether it is inactive or not.

I have selected a range of departments and some of them have no activity in this year's budget. Given that we have 33 Statement Groups, it would be useful if the skip inactive departments would work under all circumstances.
Thank you,
Rachel

Can you post what menu exact menu choice you are making? Statement Groups cannot be printed for a "range of departments".

You're right, I do not advise a range. I must select them individually. We have four divisions at our organization. Every division has several departments. All departments 1000 to 1999 belong to division one. Some departments do not have activity every year, such as our biennial convention.

Under statement group, I select every department from 1000 to 1999 for reports to the Director of division 1. I thought by checking the 'Skip inactive department' function, the report would not include those departments that are inactive in 2012 such as the biennial convention.

If you select "All departments" for the statement (rather than specific departments individually), and then select "Skip inactive departments", then Departments marked as Inactive in Ledger will not be printed.
