I imported two receipts throught the import function yesterday and received no errors. I ran a DIC today and it gave me the following error:
Receipt 1 contains an invalid vendor. Must be corrected manually.
Receipt 2 contains an invalid vendor. Must be corrected manually.

Both receipts have the same vendor and the vendor is in the AP module. I looked at the receipts and they did not have a vendor - I'm sure it was listed in the import file; and wouldn't I have gotten an error if they hadn't been there? I went to edit the receipts but can't access the vendor field. Any suggestions?

Can you check what verion of IC you're running? I'm not getting a problem with V8.1C (111012).

I did note that your import template is defaulting the vendor name, not the Vendor number.

I tried the vendor name in the import file but it gave me an error (I think - not sure now) so I used the default field.
Is that a problem? Actually, now that I think about it, I had problems with other imports when I placed the vendor/customer name as the last field in the import file. It would go away when I moved the field to another location.

Mike:
The imports that have a header and detail format (ie IC Receipts, OE Orders) want the Header columns first, followed by the Detail columns. That's probably what you encountered there.

OK - I've recreated the problem with now that the Payables data is in the directory.

However, if you change the template to default the Hdr-Vendor Number to VIKMFG everything is fine.

We'll address the DIC complaint in a future Service Pack. At the moment, you can safely ignore the error.

You can also Enable the option Allow invalid vendors under Edit | Company profile | Processing/Report Options to get rid of the DIC error.
