Have just installed new Win 7 WS (64bit) replacing XP WS.
Had been able to e-mail invoice prior to new install.
Using Outlook 2007, Order Entry Version 8.1D.
On the XP WS, when an invoice was sent by e-mail, Outlook would open and the PDF generated by OE was sent as an attachment.
On the Win 7 WS, Outlook does does not open, however the e-mail is sent but without the attachment.
If you then go to the sent folder in outlook, the e-mail is there with the attachment.
So the customer is not receiving the attachment.
We are using the MAPI method to send.

Is this happening for all Customers or just this one? If just one, it could be that the attachment is being removed at their end.

Put Adagio aside for the moment. What happens if you go into Outlook, create a new email with a PDF attachment and send it to the Customer? If it goes through OK, create a new email again to the same customer but attach the PDF file from the email created by Adagio earlier and send it.

You might also try sending the e-mail to yourself.

It happens for all customers.
The PDF is attached and is in the sent file. If it is re-sent from there it works fine.
The issue is that the customer gets an e-mail with no PDF attachment when sent from OE.

Thanks

How is Outlook getting the e-mail to the Internet? Does your ISP or Exchange Server have any rules in place?

You send an email with an attachment from OE and you can see it in the Sent folder still with the attachment. The client gets the email but with no attachment. And if you go to the Sent folder and re-send the email, it goes through successfully, attachment and all?

It seems as if Outlook is treating the first email differently because it comes from another application. Look at your security settings in Outlook to see if there is anything about handling of emails generated by external applications. Adagio hasn't changed but Outlook and the environment have so I'd look there next.

When your customer opens the initial email (without the attachment), is there any message indicating that the attachment was removed?

We e-mail our invoices from Adagio Time & Billing every week. They have always worked perfectly. Today, for the first time NONE of the pdf attachments were received by our clients. Same computer. Same user. Same procedures. No Adagio upgrades have been done. No new software has been added. No other apparent computer malfunctions. Windows might be on automatic updates, so there is a possibility that this is the culprit.

Regardless of Microsoft being the probable culprit, when Adagio e-mails fail, users will call their Adagio consultant, not Microsoft. We need to know how to resolve this. I am still searching for an answer. Anyone else have any ideas that have not been discussed in this thread?

Windows 7 32 bit MAPPI. The attachments are NOT in the Outlook outbox. There also seemed to be some missing dates (blanks where there should have been dates)in the Adagio e-mail queue. We can manually send e-mails from Outlook and attach pdf files. These are received correctly by our clients.

Brian,
Do the email in the sent folder of Outlook have the attachment?
If you resend from the sent folder do the clients receive the email?
In Windows 'Control Panel'-'Windows Update' -'View update history', did any windows update install overnight?
