Hi,
I am getting an error when trying to import an order using default order 1 template:

Invalid data '32-PUBL/GUIDE' for field called 'Det-Item Number' of record 2.

and here is the csv file:

"H","bcsd05"
"D","32-PUBL/GUIDE","",100
"D","BKHUNI002","",200
"D","BKHUNI003","",300
"D","BKMHUF001","",100
"H","BCS01",
"D","BKHUNI001","",100
"D","BKHUNI002","",100

this is the sample file with customer # and item # copied from our own data.

Please help.

The item number has to exist. Do not include the separators in the imported item number. You can find details about all the imports and exports in Adagio by clicking the Help button and also by referring to the technical document on our web site.

Hi, Andrew,

the item number is copied from Item Maintenance, so they do exist.
the seperator is not an issue either, as customer number and comments get imported fine.
the only issue I have is with item number.
I have checked all the tech tips and help and could not find a clue.
I am using OE 8.1D (110316).

Please help.

It does look like the segment separators.

We have seen copying from the item field that includes the separators, when in fact there are no separators. Customer numbers and comments do not have separators between segments, so they are not comparable issues.

Try the same file with "32PUBLGUIDE" as your item number. And when that works, use a mid command to strip out the separators for the rest of the file items.

Best,
Brian

If your item code is in three segments of 2, 3, 5 characters with a hyphen as the first seperator and the slash as the second one as in "32-PUBL/GUIDE," you need the import format to be "32PUBLGUIDE."

thanks guys!
it worked after I took out the hyphen and slash.

this is great.

I only wish that softrak includes this tip in their documentation and help files.

Happy New Year toe everyone!

The Technical Document I pointed to describes the requirements completely.
