Hi Briandouma

When you print the Inventory Reconciliation report, is the Enter/Edit Physical Inventory function dialog (screen) open at the time? This is one thing that was found to trigger this error.

I have tried it here and cannot duplicate the problem, however, perhaps a temp file is still being held open on your system - or the workfiles are not being created as they should be during the first step - Print Physical Inventory Worksheet ... when this occurred, was there anyone else in Inventory at the time?

Other things to consider: If you are using Windows NT, 2000 or XP, Opportunistic Locking must be disabled on the workstation(s) and the Server. If you are using Novell client32 - is File Caching turned OFF? These settings determine how files are handled in a network environment.

Is there another station you can print this report from?

Hello again, Brian

Using Windows Explorer, if you go to the folder where your IC data is located, can you see any of the following worksheet files:

ICWCTL'I.xxx
ICWCTL'2.xxx
ICWCTL'R.xxx

These files are created when you have printed the Physical Inventory Worksheet (which is required before you can print a reconciliation report). Also, there will be 2 files created for every location that you print the Physical Inventory Worksheet for:

ICW001'I.xxx
ICW001'R.xxx

Depending on how many locations you print, the files will be numbered accordingly from "ICW001" to the number of locations (ICW001'I & 'R to ICW006 'I & 'R if 6 locations are printed at once).

Also, have you actually entered any Physical Inventory adjustments into the Edit Physical Inventory area yet?

Thanks

Hi Brian

This may be a hard one to try to resolve, so I need to ask some more specific questions, if you don't mind assisting us with this aspect of our research...

1. After you installed the new PTF - did you do the workstation setup on the other stations? This is absolutely required on this PTF as there were changes to the report files, and the workstation setup process is what is used to install the report files for each station.

If you installed the PTF to the Server from one of the stations, the station used to install it to the Server will NOT require the workstation setup to be performed, but all other stations require this step.

NOTE: Because XP is User-orientated, you need to do the PTF install as well as the subsequent workstation installs while logged in to each station as the actual User, and this User may require full admin rights before proceeding with the install!

If that does not resolve the problem, then please answer the following questions...
2. What version of XP are you running on these stations? Home or Professional?
3. We have heard that on XP, the shortcut used to open Adagio with can be modified to 'run' in a different mode. We have heard that some kinds of printing problems have been resolved by setting this mode to Windows 2000. Perhaps you could try this on one station to see if this helps or not.
4. On each station exhibiting the problem, is the User you log in with part of the Administrator group, or are they restricted Users?
5. What NOS is the Server running?
6. Do you have any stations in your office that are running a different version of Windows that you could try this on?

Thank you.

Hello again

Well, just did some testing on a system we have set up with XP Pro and could not duplicate the problem no matter what we did.

Can you please confirm that the PTF you have installed was dated 2002.11.22?

To ensure that this PTF actually installed successfully, open Inventory and click on Help-About - please tell us what it says. (Adagio should not be open on any station while installations are being done or files may not get updated successfully as a result.)

Also, please run the Adagio Chksys.exe utility on the workstations to see if any errors are reported. To do this, using Windows Explorer, go to the Softrak\System folder on the Server. Double-click on the Chksys.exe file to start the check. Are there any errors found?

Thanks.

Hi Brian

It is my understanding that your Dealer will be contacting you with instructions to perform the workstation setups required to update your stations.

Please let us know if this resolves the problem or not, ok?

Thanks!
