Hello Sheilag

FYI, the 'Adagio Fundamentals Guide' that shipped with your Adagio product(s) has a complete Chapter (7) devoted to how to use the Designer program.

Unfortunately, technical support does not provide training, however, if you could describe exactly what it is you are having trouble with, we can assist you.

I understand that you would like to move the advice (stub) section of your check by a few lines...is it the whole section that needs to be moved, or just the fields within the section?

If the whole section needs to be moved up or down a few lines, then you can do this simply by clicking on the appropriate Advice section (Header or Details) and dragging it in the required direction a little. You should then be prompted to 'move all objects below with sections?' - you would answer Yes to this, to have the other sections move automatically to reflect the changes, or No - if you only need the Advice section itself to be repositioned and not the other sections.

If, on the other hand, you wish to only move the fields within the section, then you can do this by using the 'multi-select' (drag a 'lasso' around all the fields you would like to move) by holding down the left mouse button, then dragging around all the objects, then releasing the button to have all of them selected. Then, you would either use the arrow keys on your keyboard, or drag the field to their new position.

Of course, before doing any of this, I would recommend making a copy of the specification you need to modify, and using the copy. You may need to Save it a few times before you get the desired results. You can then replace the original with the new one, once you are sure that it is printing the way you want.

Hope this helps!

Regards,

This can be somewhat frustrating....the manuals/on-line help could be improved, especially for us DOS convertees. Time and patience--save your original-under no terms modify your original. I ruined a number of test cases by dragging/dropping and severely messing them up. Good luck!!

Dear Sheilag and KJ

Often, our Softrak Partners offer training on Adagio - of course they may charge for this service, but the End Users that have been involved with such sessions whether it be classroom style or one-on-one in their own office have indicated that it was well worth it!

Alternatively, with newer technology on the internet these training sessions can often be held via the WWW, in which you log on at a specific appointed time and participate in learning the. I would pursue this with your Dealer to see if this is possible!

Of course, the other alternative is to hire your Dealer to create the specifications for you.

Regards,
