Want to migrate to a new PC (Macbook Air running Parallels v7, Windows 7).
Tried to install Adagio Ledger 9.0A (071219) and Payables 8.1A (070919)
Both gave same error upon install attempt: "Error: The file \\psf\Adagio\APWIN\qrmaster.qrw could not be opened"
Steps taken: 1/ Run Adagio.exe 2/ Enter S/N & Install Code 3/Click through VISTA network drive warning screen, response is "Yes" 4/ Click through Adagio Welcome screen, choose "Standard Install", click "Next" 5/Click through Standard Install options window, using defaults, click "Next" 6/ Click through "Select Group" win dough, using defaults, click "Next" 7/ Click through "Ready to Install" window, using defaults, click "Install" 8/ Receive error window: "Error: The file \\psf\Adagio\APWIN\qrmaster.qrw could not be opened"

Sorry, but there's isn't a file "Adagio.exe", although I'm sure that you clicked on an EXE file in order to launch the install. Could you check the name please?

So, assuming I clicked an .exe file (which I did), whatever it may be called (though my eyes tell me it is named "Adagio.exe") , what is the next step please?

Sorry, but that's not an EXE which came from us, although it might have been downloaded and given a different name. Until we know which actual download install you are trying to run, it will be difficult to help you out.
Of course, I'm assuming that you are installing the application as Administrator and using "Install Applications" from the control panel in Windows.

Andrew, I feel like I'm down the rabbit hole here. What I have in front of me are two CDs dated November 2007 with your firm's logo and other data silk screened on them (black b/g with tan and clear lettering. Upon inserting them in the CD/DVD drive, the resulting root directory window that comes up (in both Mac OS finder and Windows 7 Explorer) includes a file named "Adagio.exe" in the list, seriously! Here is another shot (click dropbox link below) showing the file from within Windows 7. Am really seeing something that isn't there? http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4189420/Screen%20Shot%202011-09-23%20at%202.57.19%20PM.pngI am 99.9% sure these CDs came from your firm. What is going on here? And in any event, does this have bearing on the error I reported? Nigel

CD's? 2007? Sorry, wasn't expecting that! The Macbook Air wasn't even shipping back then.
What version are you trying to install? Is the version compatible with Windows 7 (needs to be V8.1 or later). Is this the version that you are running on your machine currently?
If you are on an Upgrades Plan, you might consider contacting our customer service department for file names and locations of the currently shipping versions.

Hi Nigel,
I am using Adagio, on both Mac and Windows Laptops. I am of the opinion that using a Mac is the fastest and most problem free experience you will get with / in a “Windows” environment. There are obviously a few things to watch out for like finding your Windows keys in a Mac ext.
But first, you must be using a very old Install or Demo CD. The problem that you encountered is either caused by the CD being unreadable or the install process got “confused” with the UNC path. It is definitely better to use the downloaded install files.
I would not recommend using SWSoft’s Parallels or VMWare’s Fusion (using both myself) for running your Accounting Software unless you are technically inclined and prepared to deal with the odd Mac/Unix/Windows inconsistencies and to sacrifice some speed and processing power. Interfacing with Domain Controllers also has its own challenges. It is great for instance MS Office but not for Accounting environments – rather utilise BootCamp. Alas it does not end here but I am getting of the topic.
Should you require any further assistance you are welcome to contact me via Doug.
