Good day y'all,

I just got a call from a panicked user - they have deleted all of yesterday's work - yes, the batch is gone!

I have an image from last night - but there are a gazillion files ...

Does anyone know what the file names are for A/P and A/R?

Thanks in advance!!

Cheers, JK

PS: I search the forum for "Recover batch" but got 200 hits..

What module are we talking about? If it's Ledger then there is a recover batch function. If it's Receivables or Payables then you'll need a database repair to get the batch back. There is not a "file" with the batch that you can just copy back.

Edit Reason: Missed "not"

OK - you'll need a database repair then if you want the transactions back with minimal fuss. Or, you could restore the old Payables, point GridView at the batch and use it to create a file to import into today's dataset. That will be fiddley but doable.

It's "Andrew".

Thank you Andrew.

I guess it is not as simple as slamming a few files back.

I will instruct "el destructor" to redo her work - I am certain that she will be more vigilant in the future..

Thank you "Andrew"

Cheers, JK

She did confirm her desire to delete the batch. I expect that we will add "Recover Batch" to the product at some point in the future, in the same way as it has been added to Ledger.

John:

Though it is not "as simple as slamming a few files back" as long as there is a backup we can perform a batch recovery. Sometimes re-entry is a significant project best avoided.
