Hello,

How do I add line items (rows) to financial statements that have already been created?

I tried setting up a new account group and "dragging" this group to the location (row) I want in the statements, but it seemed to drop into Row 1 (by default).

Thanks,

Jim

Jim:
The Financial Reporter works like Excel to insert rows. Highlight the entire row and right-click to get an option to "Insert Row". A nice feature in Adagio is the option to "Duplicate Row" which saves time when the new row will be similar to the old one. Next you need to decide what goes into the row. smile

Bruce:

What is the relationship between "Account Groups" (Ctrl+G) and the financial statements? If I make a single change to the Account Groups (like move an account from one group to another), how do I propagate this change to the financial statements? It seems that the FS do not pick up any changes I make to the Account Groups (example, the FS item retains the original account grouping)

There is usually no relationship between a financial statement and the account group tree unless you are using the =ACCOUNTGROUP() formula to build your financial statements.

Just add the account to the appropriate line of your financial statement.

To easily see which accounts are missing from a statement, open the Chart of Accounts View (ctrl-a) and right mouse, selecting "Verify sheet" from the context menu.

Andrew,

I actually don't have that option when I click the right mouse button. I saw a demo of this in the "intermediate" Webinar and it works quite well. That's exactly what I would like to do.

Is there any reason I don't have option?

Jim

What version are you running? Or perhaps you're clicking in the wrong place? You need to click in the middle of the pane in the Chart of Accounts View.

Version 2.1.1.1733. The help menu indicates I should be able to do this.

Then you're clicking in the wrong place.

It's the Chart of Accounts View, NOT the Account Group View.

Edit Reason: Added View pane.

When I right-click in that area, I get the following menu items:

Allow Docking
Hide
Recalculate Balances
Organize by Field
Reset to Default
Float In Main Window

Hi Jim:
Make certain that you have a statement open and that cell A1 indicates ".Smartsheet".
