I am attempting to print an aged trial balance using "calculate as of" When I select a date within the past 2 months the report generates quickly and displays the aging. When I select a date in excess of the 2 months the report takes almost 15 minutes to generate and once complete the report is definitely not correct as the aging is completely in the over 90 balance. I have done the service pack for 072711 and run data integrity multiple times. Is there a setting that I must modify to obtain useful information?

When did you last run period end?

I ran the period end when I closed off AR for year end, but selected the date to be May 31, 2011.

So is the Aged Trial Balance not supposed to produce results after you run a period end?

What version of Adagio Receivables are you using? This is important.

If you have version 8.1A or earlier, then you cannot run the report at all as of a date prior to your period end date; you will instead get an error message.

If you have version 9.0A or later, then the Aged Trial Balance report will recalculate the transaction listings - even if they have been cleared to history - when you pick 'Calculate as of'. If you maintain AR History for a long time, that will naturally mean that the report will take longer to run because it takes longer to determine which transactions were current as of the report date.

Results are determined based on whether transactions still exist in Current or History, and the completion dates of invoices stored in the AR Matching file. Incomplete or incorrect data will produce an incorrect report.

To speed up a back-dated Aged Trial Balance report, you may want to consider purging some of your older History, and keep a copy of the pre-purged data for reference if you need it. But before doing this, it would be good to discuss your historical lookup needs and weigh the pros and cons of purging history.

I haven't deleted or purged any data, yet the results I am getting are simply not accurate at all.

Do you have the option to 'Check History during DIC?' in the Receivables company profile (System Options tab)? It may be that the history has integrity errors, not being found because history was set to be excluded. It may be that the invoice dates are in fact such that as of the report date, they are aged over 90 days.

The sentence you quoted is really just to mean that a report can only ever be as good as the underlying data.

If there are integrity errors, or if the report results continue to be unclear, it may be optimal to contact your Adagio consultant to assist.

I didn't have the option checked when I performed the DIC. I have selected that option and it did find many errors in history. I will post the results when I am complete.
