When i attempt to perform the year end function in AR, the system wants me to print and clear the cash posting journal. I have done that and it wont update. I have run a data integrity and it finds no problems. How can I change the status to allow me to proceed with the Year end function?

Just to provide more information, I had a backup and restored it and tried to print and clear it again, with no success.

Are you printing from the preview screen? If so, print it with the print button and should get option to clear once report is printed.

No..i am printing it to a file and the "clear" option did come up and I cleared them all. Still to no avail.

I changed the setting of the "Allow posting journal purge" in the Company profile to "Off" and it didn't require me to print and clear, so I worked around the issue. Thank you.

For others reading this thread, the issue here was that the Posting Journal data file and the company data got out of synch with expected sequences, and the posting journal had data when none was expected. Some problem prevented the journal to be purged when it should have been.

The solution to disable the Allow Posting Journal Purge option meant that running Year End deletes the posting journal data files for you - meaning that the out of synch scenario is ignored. This was the correct procedure to follow when this problem occurs.
