When printing to printer, it does purge Posting Journals and Batch Status Report but when printing to a File, it does not request to purge anymore.

I'm using GL9.0D and whether I print to file using the Adagio PDF driver, another PDF driver or by selecting a Destination of File, I am being prompted for whether or not I want to purge the file. If I say, yes, it purges.

Is there any other detail you can provide?

I did try with Sample Data and it actually purged. I have tried with two different databases of the same client and it doesn't purge. Both of them have the purge settings ON in the Company Profile Reports Tab. Is there something else I need to be aware off by Database?

If the Path to the File doesn't exist, it doesn't prompt to purge. The path is stored in the User Preferences - Report Options. The Destination File Path is defaulted to the Database path. Since I was working with a copy of the database, I did not have the folder stored on the path. It would be nice to get an error message.

When you selected OK in the UserPreferences, you would have received an error message. The path must have existed at one time.
