Using AR 9.0B (100910) I've tried at least 10 times to import customer notes and keep getting this error, "Invalid data '05/31/2011' for field called 'Date' of record 1."

I have tried it with the date in every possible format (ASCII, Win, User Specified) and as a default field. No matter what I do I get the same error.

The short date on my Windows System is set up as, "05/31/2011". User Preferences in AR show the date format (detail) as "MM/dd/yyyy". When I add a customer note to a customer in AR/Edit Customer, it is manually selected from the pop up calendar as, "05/31/2011". When I export the customer notes, they appear in the spreadsheet as, "05/31/2011".

I've tried .csv and .xls.

Nothing works! I've run out of ideas. Can anyone help?

Try, "yyyymmdd". Other formats might work. Try an customer notes export. That will be a good starting point for your import.

I tried YYYYmmdd with the asci option. No luck.

Also exported and tried to reimport, but got the same error.

Without being (too) rude, I would like to encourage Softrak to fix this feature, as I have been waiting quite awhile for this fix. And now I see that there are additional users who would like this to work properly as well.
Thanks.

Hi Susan and Sam

I know this is a workaround, but you can install the prior version of Receivables (first rename the \Softrak\Receivables folder) and use that version for importing notes. After you are done installing the prior version, rename that folder from Receivables to Receivables_Old and rename the current version back to Receivables. Then create a shortcut to launch the older version - it will work fine with your current data but I wouldn't recommend using it for all functions.

Thanks everyone, I just entered them manually. We only had 64 this time so it wasn't too bad. Looking forward to a fix for next time.

Hi Susan,

Any easy workaround is to find a copy of Receivables V9.0A (the Receivables.EXE is probably in your \softrak\Receivables\backup Folder), and use it just to import the notes. The import was working fine back then and we managed to break it somehow.

Sorry for the inconvenience.
