Hi Ron
Adagio does have the ability to print the MICR information required by most Banks directly onto your checks.
At this point, I should point out that Adagio was designed for use with Laser printers, not Dot Matrix. Dot Matrix is not a choice for printing MICR information.
However, I should also point out that there are two types of processes that read the printed MICR information from your checks - optical and magnetic. The optical recognition method does not require special toner for your laser printer, as the device reading the MICR information relies solely on 'looking at it' with it's OCR hardware/software - however, the magnetic method requires that special magnetic toner be used to print the MICR information, so it's MCR devices can read it properly.
From what I understand, more and more Banks are moving to the OCR method, but it depends totally on your bank and what they use.
We do know of Adagio being used to print MICR information on check stock that is successfully being read by their Banks in both environments, however, if your Bank uses MCR technology, then you will need magnetic toner to print your checks - or get pre-printed check stock if this is not possible.
Hope this helps
