I've got a tricky situation here. How feasible would it be to re-do the installation of Bank Rec? For one of my client's data sets, data entry has included integration with Bank Rec, but the bank has been reconciled manually, setting the Bank Rec reconciliation back by months. The use of Bank Rec on another data set for the same client has been much more successful, so I want to bring the other sets in line. I imagine it would as simple as:

1) Undo integration settings;
2) Delete all BR-prefaced files from the set;
3) Re-install BR;
4) Configure integration; and
5) Re-do take-on procedures.

Obviously, I would test this on a backup first. Are there any holes in this plan? Thank you as always.

No need to re-install. Just delete BR*.xxx in data folder (where xxx is your data extension). Then select "create" at logon screen and make new set of data. See the "take on procedures" in the manual you can download here.

Why not just mark all the outstanding checks a "Cleared" in BankRec and keep on going? No general ledger transactions are created when this is done. If you need to adjust the bank balance after actually doing the first reconciliation, record a manual payment or receipt (depending on the reconciliation error) to the bank g/l account and post it. This will have the effect of adjusting the bank statement balance in BankRec without changing the bank g/l balance.
