I had a system write error happen today as I was trying to post a batch in the g/l.

This is the 2nd time this has happened in the last couple of weeks.

I try to do a data integrity check and it it can't rebuild it it indicates data requires expert.

I have not updated the ledger since May and am using 9.0C (100511).

Last time I just went to a back up as I only had a couple of entries but this time I have a lot more since the back up I did just this morning.

My accounts payable clerk was also trying to post a batch and got multiple errors just after I had the GL error.

Will I have to send this to Softrak to rebuild?

Why does this keep happening?

Hi, Sue,

What is the exact wording of the error message? Is the message the same in GL as in AP?

Have you run a data integrity check on your data and does it report any errors? If so and if the Rebuild button presents itself, make certain you have made a current backup and select the Rebuild button. Then, run DIC again to make sure it doesn't report further errors. You may need to run DIC and Rebuild more than once.

Has anything changed on your system in the last couple of weeks?

You may want to contact your dealer and let them know what is occurring.

Hello Sue,

Is the message "Delayed Write Failure"?

Could you describe your comuting environment? Server version? Workstation version? Anti-virus software?

Try running the DIC and clicking the Rebuild button even if it says an expert is required. You might find that the problem does manage to get fixed/

The error could have read that - I clicked OK to quick.

I am working in a network environment - there are multiple users and I have the AR, AP, GL, Bank Rec Modules. Our accounting software is on its own drive - 3.22 GB but there is only 55 357 440 bytes left. It is almost full - could this be causing a problem?

Not sure of the Anti-virus software although I know we do have some.

It looks like I am in Windows XP version 5.1 (Microsoft 2007)

I ran the date integrety check and then it is the only thing I can access now - should I run it again?

The error was Stream Write Error not System Write Error - could be a space issue on the drive - I will let you know once our IT guys look into it.

You are running out of disk space! Doesn't make much sense when you can buy 1 TByte disk driver for < $100.
