IC Import Items Problem

I have been trying for several hours to import new pick sequences but keep getting an error.
"Record Locking - Unable to access record in I/C Units of Measure. This record is in use by [shows a bunch of symbols]".
I've tried putting the unit of measure in the .csv file and tried putting it in as a field default. I get the same message either way. It runs through the validation but gives the error as soon as the import begins. I've tried not validating but still gives the error right away.
There are no other files open or programs running during this process. Further frustration is that I don't even need the stocking unit or unit of measure, but the program forces me to include it on the import.
Any ideas? I need these new pick sequences posted before the business day begins tomorrow.

Since you are probably working alone this Sunday, try exiting Adagio and deleting the file EZSEMTAB.dat from the data folder. It sounds like an old process exited abnormally and left a record locked, but that's a guess at this point.

Didn't work.. The message says, "Record Locking - Unable to access record in I/C Units of Measure. This record is in use by [shows a bunch of symbols] in window [shows more symbols]".

I'm also getting, "Invalid data 'EA' for stocking unit of record 1"
The error reports says this:
"Invalid data 'EA' for field called 'Stocking Unit' of record 1".
Our stocking unit is EA. It's the only stocking unit we use. The field is 10 characters but we only use 2.

Imports are so fiddley, it's tough to know what to suggest. What fields are you trying to import? Have you turned off the option on the import template to "add records"? Can you change just a couple of records without a problem? Are you imprting from Excel or CSV? What fields are in the import file? Does it make a difference if you limit the file to just item code / picking sequence?
You can send me you Inventory files and the file you are trying to import, but I won't be able to look at them until sometime tomorrow when I'm in the office. You're consultant will be able to help in a shorter time frame.

I am trying to import fields (Item Code, Picking Sequence, Category Code) with field defaults for (control account, stocking unit). I tried 10 records and it was successful. 20 records was not. The "add records" option is unchecked. I've tried CSV and Excel and get the same result for both. The only fields I actually need are Item Code and Picking Sequence, but the program forces me to add Category Code, Control Account and Stocking Unit. I will keep trying.

Now I'm getting this:
Record 1 with key AN1.25MST ignored because 'add new records?' is turned off.
Record 2 with key AN1.25MST16G ignored because 'add new records?' is turned off.
Record 3 with key AN1.25X5MST ignored because 'add new records?' is turned off.
Record 4 with key AN1.5MST ignored because 'add new records?' is turned off.
Record 5 with key AN1.5MST16DELHI ignored because 'add new records?' is turned off.
Record 6 with key AN1.66MST-3 ignored because 'add new records?' is turned off.
etc..
The strange thing is that these are all existing codes on our system.

This is so messed up. I went to another computer and tried it with a test of 5 items. It worked perfect. So I tried to do the whole list and it gave me the error about the invalid unit of measure. So I tried the test of 5 items again and now it gets the same error. It just worked 5 minutes ago!

Susan: The Import process only insists on Category/Acct Set/UOM when "Add new records" has a check-mark. With a check-mark on "Over-write records" but none on "Add new records", you can have a CSV file with only Item # and Pick Sequence.
It's probably a good idea to run a Data Integrity Check first, though I don't think your database is at fault.

Hi Bruce,
I ran a data integrity check and everything is okay. I know this worked last year and the year before. I still have my .csv that I used the past 2 years. Is anyone able to import pick sequences anymore?
I tried it with overwrite records checked, add new records unchecked and only 2 columns in the file (item code, picking sequence). I removed all default fields and used only field selections for Item Code and Picking Sequence. Validation is good then, "Record locking - Unable to access record in I/C Item Master. This record is in use by [symbols] in window [symbols].
ICIMPERR.DAT says, "Record 21 with key AN244A ignored because 'add new records?' is turned off".
Now why would it want to add it as a new record?
Our item codes are have 2 characters a space then a bunch more characters. In the past, I've never used the space. Maybe I need the space?
Is it just me that can't import items anymore?
