Hi Heather
Without knowing the syntax of your selection formula(s), I would say that one or more of the following is true:
- There is another selection criteria or formula in the report that is preventing all the expected records to show up.
- The syntax in one of the formulas is incorrect. For example, the Salesperson code is 6 characters in length & all 6 characters must be represented. If the selection criteria was typed in, rather than using the Browse Field Data option, then there is room for error. A salesperson code of KW, using only 2 of the 6 characters would be represented by " KW" - not "KW". This holds true for AR Customer Numbers, AP Vendor Numbers etc.
Based on your findings when asking for only one Sales rep that was included in the previous scenario and having nothing coming up, I am suspecting the syntax of the SP Code again, if you created everything the same as your previous report, but there could be other factors.
Has this report ever worked as expected?
The fact that a new report gives the same results either means you are using the same syntax in your formulas, or the linking is not what it should be.
Use the Visual Linking Expert to check your links to ensure they are linking to valid fields (under normal circumstances, a driving link should be made from an indexed field (indicated by a little green marker) to a common field in the linked table. The driving table should be on the left, and the linking arrow should be pointed from left to right.
If the suggestions here do not help, please add another post with the following information:
- What applications/versions are you reporting on?
- What version/release date of QRWIN are you using?
- What are the main fields in your report, and in what order?
- What are your links now?
- When you created the new report, did you try previewing it without selecting any specific records first - to see if it does in fact pull data at all?
This is the best method to start troubleshooting the report. Put all your fields on the report without any selection formulas to limit the results. If this works, then all is ok here - just start limiting the criteria bit by bit and keep saving your report in between until you find the problem.
Good luck!
