Using Gridview, we want to export summary records only to a .CSV or .XLS file including only the sort field(s) and the summary totals. Is it possible? How?

I meant the details. But I have tried again and it seems to work fine.

Thanks

A common "surprise" is to have a column or row highlighted when you click the ExcelDirect button and only getting that specific column or row in Excel. It's happened to me many times when demoing Adagio. It's a feature.

How could I get rid of the Grand Total Row?
I want to use the resulted Excel file for importing and the last row is producing and error when validating. Not validating is not an option.

Well, you'll have to delete the row manually, since you cannot get the summary totals without having column totals turned on in the View. Another approach is to export the details and let Excel do the summarization.

We are trying to implement an automatic process that will import into IC unattended overnight. So, deleting the row manually is not an option either.

Even when validation is not used, the process stops to inform that there is a corrupted row and need manual intervention.

Could you use some Windows Macro utility to turn off the Total row? If not, then you won't be able to use this unattended.

Or, you could change the export to a CSV through Notepad perhaps.

Edit Reason: Notepad suggestion.

Hi:

I have created a macro to manipulate the excel file, but I cannot save it as .xls when I am using Excel 2007. The Excel settings 2007 have .xls as default for new spreadsheets but this is not respected by Adagio Gridview.

The reason this spreadsheet cannot be saved by the macro is because, in the Excel's Save as window, the number of keystrokes varies from event to event to select the .xls format.

Since the imports in Adagio only accept .xls files, shouldn't Gridview save .xls files as well? How could I make it happen?

Hi, Patricia,

Many Adagio applications support imports using .xlsx files. However, you'll need to physically type the .xlsx extension onto the end of the import File Name path.
