Just recently did an upgrade the the GL to 9.0C. When I used to print out a listing of various accounts the report total would always be the balance of the various accounts (debits less credits). I don't know what the report balance now is supposed to represent. Can someone please explain where the figure from the report balance is coming from?

Are you looking at the GL Trial Balance? What is it that you don't like? Have you selected the correct Fiscal Year and period for the report?

I printed up a detail listing. Here is an exacmple
Acct # 1111 Account balance 514238.51
Acct # 1112 Account balance 15427.16

Report Balance 359675.00. What's with the report balance? Where in the world did that come from?

Just to make certain I understand: You printed the Detail Listing report, not the Trial Balance - correct? You printed just the 2 accounts as listed but the report total was as shown? Is that correct? And you selected the current fiscal year? What options did you select on the report selection screen; in particular, what choices have checkmarks and which ones don't?

That's correct it was a detail listing report. It was for the current year but why that would matter is beyond me because regardless of which year I pick it should balance. I used just one month, I asked it to included zero dollar account and inactive accounts. That's it. I have been using this program since 2004 and it has always balanced prior to this.
