I guess I'll try limiting current to only 1 day? Staff are saying that it gets slower as the day goes on (as they enter more invoices). Each day the cycle repeats as some are cleared out of current and more are added.

The only complaint I'm getting regarding going to history instead of current for everything is that when they "restore" instead of "copy" an invoice, it seems to do the same thing except it won't copy the serial numbers.

I can't speak for Softrak, but that may be a deliberate design decision based on the concept that serial numbers are usually unique and therefore wouldn't be invoiced a second time.

Why would you want the same serial numbers?

OrderEntry calculates the (true) balance outstanding for a customer before it worries about whether it needs to do a credit check.

We will investigate whether the number is expected elsewhere in the program. My guess is that it must work this way because you might change the TERMS to one that does require a complete credit check.

It should only be getting "slower" for this one high volume client. How many orders/invoices are you processing a day for them? Why not just add additional items onto the first order for the day and invoice once?

We want the same serial numbers in the case where we have to credit an invoice back for some reason and reinvoice it again at different pricing.

We cannot add additional items to the first order for this customer because of the way payment comes in. We have to keep each invoice separate for payment match up purposes.

About how may orders/inoices are we talking about daily from this active customer?

The number of invoices per day for this high volume customer varies anywhere from approximately 20 to 200 per day. I've eliminated everything from current now except for 1 day and staff are saying that invoices for that customer are running faster today. We may only have an issue now towards the later part of the day when we do hundreds on the same day. If the "restore" in history would work the same as "copy" in current and include the serial numbers, would also be helpful.

One more thing regarding serial numbers that I have mentioned before that still creates problems here is that we are currently not able to save serial numbers at the order stage (without ship quantites). We are required to designate specific serial numbers to orders long before the invoicing stage and Adagio does not allow us to do this.

Hi Susan,

A HotFix for OrderEntry V8.1D has been uploaded to our web site that skips the reading of the invoices if Receivables has disabled credit limit checking OR or the TERMS code in use on the order/invoice skips the credit check.

Against your data it improved the response time for this customer by a factor of 8.
