I need to remove Zero Balance Accounts from financial statements.
When I use both the Suppress Zero Balance Accounts or the Suppress Inactive Accounts the account row with the zeros or the inactive account still prints on the financial.

I do not want to physically remove the row, as will now need to adjust the total formula which may be opening a can of worms down the road.

If you have the suppress zero accounts option turned on, does the row show up in the print preview window? The suppression is really for the printed copy of the statement and sometimes a row is not visually suppressed when working on a statement.

If you select (highlight) and right mouse click on the row in question, is the "Zero suppress" option checked in the context menu?

If you ZIP the ledger and the statement and send it to me I will take a quick look to see if the problem is easy to identify.

Thanks Andrew
Tested it and the print to paper and Excel does not include the zeroes.

I took it for granted that what I see in the Design Windows of the FX is what I will get when printed which is a misnomer.

My recommendation is to change the wording on the hover-over icons:

"Zero Suppress" should read "Zero Suppress when Printed"
"Ignore Inactive" should read "Ignore Inactive when Printed"

This cost me a good nights sleep.

Hello Edward,

Well, when you print a SmartSheet, you don't see columns A or B (except with ".ShowAccounts" in cell B1, and rows/columns can be marked "Hide when printed" so they don't show on the printout. The help text for the option says:
Quote:

Click this option to suppress any zero values when you are printing your financial specification.

However, we have made every effort to have the Zero suppress work within the designer, so if you have a gl/statement where it isn't working, then I would like to see them and find out why it wasn't working for this case.

Would you send me the data and the statement?

Sorry about the night's sleep.
