Hi bshapiro,

Is this a problem that just started happening, or has it been for a while? If this just started, then what has changed recently (ie new computer or network upgrade or other system changes)?

If no-one is in the software and you are getting this message, then one or more files are not getting written to or clearing correctly. Make sure that data and program files are shareable read/write on the network. This includes all files in the \softrak and subdirectories, and also the \3rdparty\working directory.

You might want to try re-installing any Multi-user paks you have, making sure that you choose the correct network drive.

Pathing is important in many places. Edit the QIWIN.INI file, found in the \softrak\qiwin directory, and look for an option near the top called 3PDrive. This is the location of the \3rdparty\working directory, and they should match. Make any necessary edits if required.

If this is a Windows NT/2000/XP machine, make sure Opportunistic Locking is disabled.

You may also have to delete and re-create the EZSEMTAB.DAT data file in your data directory. You can simply rename this file, and the next time you open Quik Invoice for Windows or any other program that uses this data, the file will be recreated.

Regards,

One file that might have been affected for that data set is EZSEMTAB.DAT. Make sure that nobody is in that data, any module, and rename/remove that file. When you next go to open any program for that data, the EZSEMTAB data file will be recreated. This file controls things such as multi-user locking.

There sometimes are temp files created and deleted during regular processing, but nothing a user is required to do manually; the program should do that automatically. If a machine does not have proper read/write/delete access to the data directory, problems certainly could exist.

Terminal services is a bit different compared to the typical client/server setup. Because this is a Windows program, a number of files need to be installed to the local C drive by the workstation setup. This of course isn't possible with Terminal services as there isn't the same concept of a local C drive. Therefore, there need to be a number of files that have to be copied to the user profile directory. The easiest way of doing this is to reinstall the program while logged into Terminal services, as this installs all those files for you.

Regards,
