Hi Tony,

When you are creating a new report, which database selector are you choosing? Is it ADAGIO.SSI or one of the specific xxGLOB.DAT data files?

The error message you quoted comes (I believe) when you choose ADAGIO.SSI and the database selector, and the option 'Data only'. The table finder must then look up an internal list (not viewable for users) to see what data you have and which tables should be loaded. If the table doesn't appear in the list, or if the table is not installed, the error message you quoted will occur.

We recommend using the xxGLOB data selector when creating new reports, as this will give you more control over what is happening. Do you run into the same problems with the programs/versions when doing new reports this way? I can verify that for at least IC65 and QI67, it works fine.

Regards,

Hello Tony

Just to update the forum post on this -

We can duplicate the problem (error) with trying to create a new report with JC6.5. JC61 seems to work fine.

We suspect it has something to do with the report tables, but we have to research this more thoroughly before we can give a concrete response.

For example, the table name for JC61 is QRTJC61A.QRW and QRTJC61A.LD4. The .LD4 file is used by QR DOS and can be read by QRWIN as well, however, RP needs the existance of a .QRW table, otherwise it cannot create the report.

This is strange, though because JC6.5 uses the same tables as 6.1 does.

Regarding the problems with QI and IR - I would suggest re-installing those products after having installed RP - just as in QR and QRWIN, 3rd Party products need to be installed after having installed the report writer, as these products install their own tables.

However, there should be no issues with IC6.5.

We will keep you updated on this...thanks for reporting it!

Regards,

Hi again, Tony

I believe we have a workaround for you already.

When you go to create the new report, use these steps:
1. New report
2. Database Files ? Find Database File ? Click Add
3. Select the ADAGIO.SSI file ? Click Open
4. Select ?Installed Only? at the Select Company for Report screen
5. Select the ?DOS? option and Deselect the Adagio option
6. Click OK
7. You should now see a list that includes not only JC61A tables (which should be used for your 6.5A data), but I noticed IR65 tables there as well.
8. Select the ones you need (Double-click them or click Add while the table is selected, then click Close and move on to the next step of creating your reports!

Good luck ? please contact me if you have any more questions or problems.

Regards,
