I am about to upgrade a client to the new version of Adagio Invoice 9.0A.

Just requesting a few clarifications:

1: It seems that all the supporting modules MUST be at the latest release or the data will not "Convert" properly. Tried using the NFR version and got pure errors on my test machine (all modules are not at the latest NFR release). This is intentional because when I speak to my clients I want to see what they are seeing.

2: From my reading of the Enhancements and Revisions document dated May 3, 2010 I do not see the most important feature listed or even spoken about, "INVENTORY INTERFACE". Can I get an expansion on this area as to how the new release communicates with the Adagio Inventory.

3: As an extension of item 2, can we now post Credit Notes and do not have to worry how they will update the Inventory module. Previously from having to import the icsbatch, I was told not to "MIX" invoices and credit notes.

Regards..

Edward:

1. CHeck Softrak's compatibility chart. This document will tell you which version of AR and GL the new Invoice upgrade is compatible with.

2. Invoices has integrated with Inventory since day one (1996 I believe). Please clarify what you were expecting.

3. Invoice's does not give you an option of return to stock or not. You need to use Order Entry for this. A work around would be to process credit notes in separate batches as you are doing now.

Hello Edward,

  1. You must be running Adagio Receivables V9.0A if you want to use Adagio Invoice 9.0A. Upgrading Adagio Receivables from V8.1 to 9.0 is a fairly involved process and should be undertaken on a copy of the data before doing so in a live environment.
  2. Adagio Invoices has always been compatible with Adagio Inventory. Sales recorded on invoices are sent to Inventory using a Shipment batch which is retrieved and posted. There is an option in the Invoices company profile whether to adjust the on-hand quantities displayed on an item inquiry by the quantities recorded in Arcive batches, if you are looking for more up to date on-hand statistics. Were you looking for something in particular?
  3. Adagio Invoices does not permit credit notes to return items to inventory as Doug mentioned. It is good practice to separate out credit notes from invoices into separate batches. They sould have their own numbering conventions as well.

Good luck with the upgrade!

I forgot to input the word "POSTING" thus "INVENTORY POSTING INTERFACE".

Thanks for the other info.

Hi Edward,

Was there something you or your client were looking for in particular?
