Hi all,
I am trying to set up sundry vendors and have a couple of questions. I am using PO for Adagio 8.1A with AP, IC, and more.

I want to use this in part to create purchase orders for items that would be purchased using the company credit card but come from specific sources e.g. Costco (we are in SoCal)
Is this possible?

If so, how would the Inv/Adj to the purchase order be handled so that AP can be properly posted and the PO is completed and can be archived?

Finally, when I tried to set up a sundry vendor, the program gets frozen on a field called Rate Type. I could not find any information on what a Rate Type is or how to create one, but I can't add a sundry vendor because of this problem. It defaults to "SP" but just keeps calling up the Rate Type menu box when I try to move on.

I was going to experiment a little but ran into this obstacle right away so am turning to you for help.

Thanks
Jody

Jody:

I set up a real vendor and then issue and receive PO's in the normal manner. The vendor is setup with a Payee name that makes the cheque payable to the credit card company. When the credit card bill arrives I write a check to pay the vendors account and give it to the credit card company to pay the account (in fact they get half a dozen cheque to make up the total as there is a number of vendors involved.

As for he rate type issue please let us know the release date of PO that you have installed and are you using the Adagio Multi-currency module.

I think this is the release date: 091029

We do not use multi-currency.

And thanks for the suggestion on credit card payments.

Given that you don't have multi-currency then any rate type would be acceptable. Is there any option that you can select? If not then you will likely need your Adagio consultant to give you a hand because there is no means to edit the rate type by the users (that I'm aware of).

It seems if I skip the Rate Type field all together, I am able to add the sundry vendor(it defaults to SP.) Since we don't use multi-currency, I assume this does not pose a problem. All things considered, we may not make much use of sundry vendors anyway.

Thanks very much for your assistance.
