Dear William

Yes, there has been a "new" version for quite some time now, and yes - it is V6.8A. We have just started shipping our newest release - (2002.06.18)!

Depending on what functionality you need, you may not really 'need' to upgrade, however, there have been many enhancements and fixes incorporated in Adagio Payables since version 6.6A.

If you would like to compare the differences (there are too many to list here), click on this link for a comparison: New features in Adagio Payables.

For specific information on what has been implemented in the 6.8 releases, you can go to the Release Notes page and select the Adagio module you would like information for: Adagio Release Notes.

If you would like more specific information, you can call email our Customer Service Department: customerservice@softrak.com , or you can call your Dealer to arrange a demonstration of the newest release.

Since it's first release, Adagio Payables has been a full 32-bit Windows - this goes back to Version 6.5A!

Hope this helps!

Hi there

Ben: Our post read: QUOTE: "Since it's first release, Adagio PAYABLES has been a full 32-bit Windows - this goes back to Version 6.5A!". It is true that not ALL Adagio modules were 32-bit.

Here is the breakdown:
Ledger, Payables, Inventory, OrderEntry & Time&Billing have always been 32-bit.

Invoices, Receivables and Checks were all 16bit versions in their first release (V6.5A).

Invoices became 32-bit in V6.7A
Receivables and Checks became 32-bit in V6.8A

The performance of a 32-bit Windows application under any Windows O/S does not indicate that it is not or does not support 32-bits. There are so many other factors that come into play at any given time during the normal operation of a Windows-based accounting program, that often, on two identical systems running the very same O/S - one will run trouble-free and the other may have problems and 'hit a lot of .DLL errors'.

Dear William

I hope the information above is a bit clearer now.

To address your new questions...

Yes, Adagio Payables 6.6A & 6.8A can be run on Windows 2000. We have a few stations here running W2K Professional and they have no problems with this O/S.

Adagio Ledger 6.6A has a known issue with posting batches on W2K systems. This version should not be used for posting on a W2K system. This was so close to the release of 6.8A that it did not become too much of a problem. So, if you want to run Ledger on W2K, you must upgrade to 6.8A, which has no problems that we are aware of that are specifically to do with the Windows O/S.

Regarding your last question - Adagio is 32-bit and as such runs 32-bit - there is no option for running it any other way.

Hope this helps.
