Is there a way to change my as of balance in Bank Rec without posting a cash batch?

I dont think i did the start up procedures correctly, as my GL bank balance and the as of balance are always off by the same amount when I clear all the bank transactions (i started off with the wrong 'as of balance').

I tried posting a batch for the exact amount its off by and then just deleting it before it hit the ledger (in a test database), but then of course i have a transaction that will be sitting there not cleared forever.

I should also mention that my outstanding transactions in BR netted out against my GL balance equals my bank balance - so i'm not missing any transactions today.

Hi, Cam,

You can always do postings in BR to adjust the As of balance. This is usually best to do when there are no other entries to be retrieved into GL or AR. You'll want to be sure that you don't let the BR posting flow through to the other modules though. For example, you should delete the BR batch that goes to GL before it is posted to avoid double postings.

But then won't I forever have a transaction in the bank rec side that will never be cleared by a bank transaction?

I guess it isn't a big deal, but then i'd have an outstanding item on my bank rec printout that will eventually be very old.
