I have need of your combined wisdom.

A client has requested an adagio invoice not to print the entered items but instead group by category and print as such for the body.

The footer totals will remain as is.

Can I get the link to the Invoice Designer Manual.

In Adagio Invoices, items always print in the sequence that they are entered. You cannot change the sort sequence of the items on an invoice. To change the sequence in which items print, they must be entered in the desired sequence.

Adagio manuals can be downloaded from here. Or from the Softrak website, access the 'Support' menu and choose 'Manuals'.

Do you have an Adagio consultant? What you want to do is very possible but is not the kind of question that can be handled in this forum. It involves delving into your data and making modifications to your invoice specification.

If your consultant is not able to assist you, have him or her contact me, and I will point him/her in the right direction.

The way to accomplish this with IC items is to enter them into the invoice detail tab grouped by category. They could add the D – Category field to the Item tab list. And, assuming they know the item category for the item they want to enter next (this might be placed on the form they do the data entry from), they would then insert items in the same category order on the Item tab list.

IC items all use the same style code which is defaulted in the IN Company Profile.

The Invoice Designer manual can be accessed within the Designer online help when you have the Invoice Designer open. You can also download the Adagio Fundamentals manual from our website. On our main webpage, hover your cursor over the Support tab and select Manuals from the flyout menu. Chapter 9 is all about using the Adagio specification designers.

Although this will not resolve Edward's problem immediately, can I make a request to allow detail lines on an invoice to be sorted, similar to the way invoices in a batch can be sorted.

What fields would you want to sort the invoice lines by?

Well, in this particular case, by item category. Plus, the usual culprits, like item code, style code, etc.
