Versions
Accpac for Dos v6.5
AR Module v6.1
Quik History v6.1

I recently started using Miscellaneous Cash Transactions in AR but when I post the batch the system gets stuck when trying to update Quik History. The only way to get out is to do Alt-Enter. However this will kick me right out of Accpac altogether. I do not believe it has affected the integrity of the information being posted. I am able to go right back in and print the Posting Journal.

Note: This only happens when posting Misc Cash Transactions. Regular Cash Transactions (posted to a customer) are not affected.

Also Note: if I post Misc Cash Trans Batch at the same time as a regular Cash Trans batch, this problem does not occur.

Only thing I can think of which may be causing it is that I created a new Control Account Set to use during posting of Misc Cash Transactions called Cash on Hand. Could this be the problem?
This is very annoying. Please help.

Thanks
Kim

Hello Kim

The version of Quik History you are using has been discontinued for years now and we cannot fully support it.

Setting up a new Control Account Set in A/R should not cause this type of problem. Check your Account Set in A/R to ensure all required fields are setup correctly.

Since regular cash transactions are posted to actual Customer accounts - do you have an A/R 'Customer' setup for these miscellaneous transactions? While it is true that ACCPAC A/R will allow the posting of cash transactions applied to a 'blank' Customer Number - perhaps this older version of QH will not allow this.

I tested this here with currently shipping version of QH6.5A (000702) using A/R 6.5A and had no problem with the posting of a 'blank' Customer cash batch that used a newly setup Control Account - when I went into QH - the transaction was there, but of course, no Customer information showed up, as expected.

As per your other post, in order for the QH capture to work properly, QH must be installed last. If anybody reinstalled A/R, or even installed an upgrade or ptf for it - you would have to reinstall QH afterwards, and ensure that the capture flags are setup again in the QH Housekeeping - Captured data area.

I would suggest doing a Data Integrity check on your QH data, as well as AR to ensure there is no problem with the data.

Something must have changed since you went away to cause these problems in both QH and QR. You may have to call your ACCPAC Dealer for more assistance with this.

Of course, our recommendation would be to upgrade your products to current shipping versions - they are well out-of-date and have not even been tested for Y2K compliancy, let alone compatibility with ACCPAC Plus 6.5 products.

Good luck!
