We import our monthly entries into G/L. Since we installed the program update 9.0C (100405) we have getting error messages when importing Detail Only Batches: Import Error - Invalid data "for field caleld 'Record Type' of record 27. This is a blank line after the end of the import. After opening the spreadsheet and deleting this line 3 different times, it finally imports without errors.

It's very hard to tell if a row in an Excel spreadsheet is "empty", isn't it?

I tried importing the sample Excel file into sample data and there were no errors.

Could there have been anything hidden or 'corrupted' in the last 3 rows of the XLS file, when when deleted allowed the import to proceed? It wouldn't have to be in a visible column but could be out in column X or CC or way over there.

No doubt, however, the same file imported last month without errors and no changes except the accounting period field.

If there were changes, then it couldn't have been the "same file". Excel does lots of "stuff" when it's writing out a worksheet, and it's very easy to add something to a cell, even if it's nothing.
