I am on a small 3 computer network. I have mapped the Adagio data files to drive G: and the program files to drive E:. I am able to do the updates to Adagio on the pc that has both the program and data files on it but, I am unable to do the updates on one of the "satelite" workstations. Any help would be appreciated.

The 2 satellite computers must each have the same drives mapped as does the server. Furthermore they must point to the same locations on the central computer as do the drive mappings there.

Drive E: is not a good choice because it is usually (always?) reserved for the local computer.

Why not use drive G: for both the applications and data? Of if you want to separate them, use something like drives G: and H:.

Remember that you also have to contend with security/permissions in a setup like this.

Hi rsam,

Assuming that the PC on which the Adagio programs are installed is also being used as a workstation, do all 3 workstations 'see' the drive with the Adagio programs as E? This is required.

Assuming that the programs are only installed in one place, and not separately on all 3 workstations, then when the updates are installed once, they will not have to be installed anywhere else. There may be a requirement to re-do the workstation installation on the other 2 stations, but this is not required for every update.

Can you confirm what process you are doing on the 'satellite' workstations that is failing? Are you trying to install the upgrade, or run the 'wksetup.exe' workstation setup, or trying to run the updated Adagio program from your shortcut, or something else? And what is the error or problem you are having on the other 2 workstations - is there an error message?

I tried doing all three but, I got the same error message. I have to remote into the three workstations using logmeinrescue so, I am now waiting for the user from the remote site to call me back and i will go in remotely and recreate the error message. Once I get it, I will get back to you in this forum.
