Hi Patricia
If your other Adagio modules can print to these two printers, there should be no reason why Ledger is having problems such as these, although we have heard of one other instance where a particular printer driver (HP Business Inkjet 2200) gave problems when printing Reports from the Ledger Reports menu. There have been no other 'Ledger-specific' issues that I am aware of.
Printing Batches to the Minolta:
Could you please describe exactly what occurs when you try to print a batch to the Minolta printer? E.g. Are you printing the batch from the Reports - Batch Listing option, or from within the batch, or from the Edit batches window that displays all the batches separately?
Do you just click the Print button and the problem occurs, or do you click Setup, then select a different printer, then go back and click Print?
What version of Windows is running on the station trying to print to the Minolta, and is it using the correct printer driver for this version of Windows? Is the printer driver using PCL5 or PCL6 emulation? PCL6 is known to cause problems with other Adagio modules, but PCL5 has no known issues.
Does only one workstation on the network have this problem, or do all stations have problems printing batches from Ledger? Please try. If any work, note the difference between that one and the one having the problem.
Does the same thing happen with sample data? (Softrak\ALWIN\Samdata).
Can you print Ledger batches to the TI600 printer ok on this same workstation?
Printing Financials to the TI600:
Can you print normal reports from the Ledger Reports menu to this printer ok without an error?
Do ALL financial statements produce this problem, or have you tried different ones? Is the problem one a very large statement?
Frankly, Adagio has no effect on printer memory. I don't know a whole lot about printer memory and how it needs to be setup, but I have heard that there are 'time out' settings that can affect things like printing - also, are there specific options available in the TI's printer properties or setup program that would effect how the memory is used? These are the types of things to check. Maybe you could test printing to this printer with a report such as the Ledger Detailed Listing or Trial Balance - both can be quite large reports...it would be interesting to see if the same message was returned.
Basically, if it is possible, you should try using a different printer 'driver' - Windows comes with a multitude of generic drivers, perhaps there is one that can be used to eliminate these problems. You could also try the manufacturer's website for information on known problems and/or updated patches.
Hope this gives you some ideas - good luck!
Take care,
