Hi Bruce,

First, create a new folder 'ModRP' directly under the Adagio program directory for the report you want to modify. In the Case of Sales Analysis, this would be \softrak\srwin\ModRP.

Use Windows Explorer to copy the xxx.RPT file you want to modify from the StandardRP folder to the ModRP folder.

Open the RPT file with Crystal Reports to make your modifications. Some changes such as re-positioning fields or adding colour or decreasing font size are easy. Adding fields from an existing table is not too bad. Adding fields from new tables is more difficult and in some cases will not be possible. Note that we cannot help you to make these modifications.

When saving the changes, ensure that you use 'Save As' and pick saving as a 'Crystal 7.0' file format. Do not change the name of the report that you are editing in the ModRP directory, and do not remove the original report from the StandardRP directory.

When Adagio SalesAnalysis is used and the report is printed, Adagio first looks in the ModRP directory (if it exists) and uses the RPT file located here. If it is not found then the usual StandardRP report file is used.

Hi Bruce

I have never found it to be an efficient use of time to modify the standard SalesAnalysis reports, not when it is so trivially easy to create a report using the Inquiry function.

As far as I'm concerned, those standard reports are for demo purposes only. As are the inquiries that are automatically created when you launch SalesAnalysis for the first time.

The first thing I do on a new install is to delete the standard reports and all of the default inquiries. They just get in the way.

Steve
