Hi Tobi,
If the exporting of this report was working up until about a month ago, and now does not work, then likely one of the two following conditions apply:
1) The number of records in your Sales Analysis database has reached some sort of 'maximum' for the Excel export to handle.
If you are able to export other 'smaller' reports to Excel, this could verify the cause. Perhaps try temporarily adjusting the selection formula of your Customer Sales report to select fewer records (ie only the current month or year). If this exports without freezing, this will also identify the data size as the problem.
2) Something has changed in your system.
Did you install any new software or upgrade your computers or network recently? Did your Windows version get updated? What else is running inthe background, such as virus checkers or other software. It is possible that a new 'conflict' has been introduced into the system that did not previously exist a month ago. Try running the report from a different workstation. Perhaps also make a copy of your data on the C: drive (instead of the network) and run your report off of this copy of the data (to eliminate any potential network interferences).
Just so you know, we have just released Crystal Reports 8.5A for Adagio, which works just like Quik Reports for Windows but uses much more current technology. Quik Reports for Windows is based on Crystal 4.0, which is about 7 years old. One of the numerous changes is the size of data that you can report from, where the 'working maximum' has been greatly increased.
Regards,
