Hi everyone,

I have a question about a "Special Price" Value that shows up on some items on an Alternative Price List. It's not there for every item and from what I can gather, it's attached to the Customer Profile and not the Alternative Price List itself (read: when alternative price list is attached to a test customer, the value doesn't show up).

Here's where I see it:

I create a new order for a customer that has an alternative price list and a customer profile. I go to an item (one that is found on the alt. price list) and then click "Prices" on the right. This is what I get:

- Discount Structure A/B/C/D/E and their prices.
- Base Price (9.25)
- SPECIAL PRICE (3.61)
- Sale Price (3.89)
- Override

I have no idea where that Special Price is being held, but I'd like to delete it. We want to sell this product for $3.89, but it's taking the lesser of both values and in this case the special price value trumps the sale price.

Any ideas? It's only for certain items, so it makes me think I have a phantom discount happening somewhere that I just need to toggle off.

You can see the Special Prices that have been set up already by selecting Edit | Special Prices within the main OE menu.

These may be set up for a customer to cover all items within a particular category or for individual items only. They can also be deleted from this window.

There were two Special Prices for this item under one customer. One was 4.25 and one was 3.89 (sale price). Both were deleted from the Special Prices and I still have this 3.61 showing up somehow.

Is there any other way this number could be present?

Are you sure this price kicks in for just this customer? Is may be possible the customer is using a particular Alternate Price List set up for the Sale Price. This price would also show as a Special Price when the Prices button is accessed for the item on the order detail.

I've solved the mystery, and with any mystery, in hind sight it seems like a stupid oversight.

There was a category special price that I didn't see. Once deleted, it eliminated the problem.
