Dear Kyle

Access violations can come up for various reasons, however, where Adagio is concerned the most reported causes have been:

- Damaged data files.
- Another User is peforming an operation that affects multi-user access to Adagio (for Multi-user processing, you need to purchase and install an Adagio Lanpak).
- Files and/or folders set to 'read only' but should not be.
- Different User is logged onto the station that normally uses Adagio as another User (i.e. privedges or rights when logged onto the Server).

Here are some suggestions to try to resolve this:
1. If Adagio is installed on a Network server, is this the only workstation having this problem?
2. If you have more than one dataset, is this the only one having the problem? Do a data integrity check on this dataset, if there are errors, perform the Rebuild function to have Adagio try to fix them.
3. Try doing some archive batch processing using sample data or a different dataset (Adagio samdata can be found in the Softrak\ALWIN\Samdata folder on the drive where Adagio was installed.).
4. If Adagio & the data is located on a Network server, try copying the data to your station's local drive, and try the same procedure - if there are no problems, then it is likely network related (i.e. access rights, no multi-user support etc.).

If none of the above suggestions help, then perhaps reinstalling Adagio Ledger would restore program related files that have become damaged in some way. Before reinstalling however, please rename or remove the ALWIN program directory, so all files are installed new (rather than trying to overwrite existing ones).

Also, if Adagio is installed on a Network Server, you may need to have full ADMIN rights before you attempt to reinstall onto the Server drive.

Good luck,
