I am setting up a new financial statement and want the GL account names to pull into the Financial statements but it is making me enter the names manually? What am I doing wrong? Please help.

Here is the formula I am using

=GLDESC("",3,B$225)

To make anything show up in the name I have to manually Enter for example "revenue" between the "" "" I have tried leaving it blank and that doesn't seem to help either?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi ACL2:

Try this formula: =STRCAT(" ",ADGET("GLDATA.DESC",$B225))

GLDESC() will display whatever you place in the quotes for a summary of a range of accounts. It will display the actual account description for a single account when the ".Range" command in column "A" is expanded.

Lars' formula will work too, but displays the first account description found when a range of account numbers is given (in cell B$255). (BTW - don't you really mean $B225?)
