Has anyone got a sample text file to import purchase orders into the Adagio PO module? I've struggled with this for hours but keep getting an invalid file format error message, yet have been very careful to match the import template with the text file, checked for field formats. Tried CSV and tab delimited. Same result.

If anyone has made this work, your advice or a sample text file would really help.

Thanks

Hi Ed,

I've attached a zip file for you. Unzip and copy the files into your sample data directory (Typically X:\Softrak\POWIN\SampleData, where X:\ is your network drive).

Then modify the import template in POA to point to the csv file. Should be able to import without any additional changes.

Thanks for the help Ryan. It's a lot different than I expected, so hopefully I can get the data formatted this way. We'll see how it goes. At least now I know more what to expect. Your help is greatly appreciated.

You're welcome. It can be a bit frustrating working with POA's import as it is different in design from the rest of the Adagio modules and the error messages aren't always the most helpful.

Good luck! smile

Ryan, you're a gentleman and a scholar! Thanks to you, I successfully imported 2,000 lines of data using your example. This all started by printing the outstanding POs from ACCPAC Plus IC to a text file, importing it into Excel. Although it ends up being quite messy, with a little tweaking, the key columns are there such as Item No, Desc, Qty Ord, Qty Rec'd etc. Then I did a calculation column to get the O/S qty for each item, copied and pasted key values into a new sheet, got it all lined up, saved as CSV, deleted my cheat-sheet headings, and ran the import. Few hours of work at my end saved many hours of painstaking mind-numbing entry for the client, not to mention the potential entry errors.

Thanks again. This saved the day.
