Since upgrading to OE 8.1C (090902) and AR 9.0A (090928) our customer's address on invoices from OE are printing a little differently. OE Invoice specification billing info is as follows:

B8 Bill to Address 1
B9 Bill to Address 2
B10 Bill to Address 3
B12 Postal Code
B11 Bill to Address 4

When a customer has info in both Address 1 & 2 it prints as follows:

John Smith
123 Anystreet
RR#1
Anywhere, ON
K0H 1M0
Canada

When there is no info in Address 2 it prints as follows:

John Smith
123 Anystreet
Anywhere, ON
Canada

K0H 1M0

Hi Susan,

You have the wrong spec codes for your addresses. Codes B8 to B12 are the 'compressed' address codes, meaning that if an address field is blank, then subsequent address information (such as city, province and postal code) move to fill the gap. These address codes are meant to be used in sequence of address 1-4 followed by the postal code.

Because you are not using the address lines in that sequence, you should instead use the regular bill address lines B1 to B5 which prints the raw address information, whether it is a space or not. This gives you more control over the location of address information, but this also means that for your second example, there will be a space between the address and the city.

As for eliminating the country from printing, there is an option in the Receivables company profile to suppress printing the home country. There you can enter the home country into one field and set the option to suppress. This setting flows to Order Entry and any other Adagio program that prints forms and uses Customer address information.

Thanks, we are now using AR's "suppress home country" setting and the compressed codes B8-12 in their correct sequence. The result is excellent!
