You seem to be confusing your AR data with the AR program. There is only one program but, as you have found, there may be many sets of data.
To see where the program is installed, right-click on the AR icon you use to start it. Select Properties. The Target will how where the program is installed. It is this location that the Update will detect and to which it will install the new program files.
In the logon screen of AR program, if you click on the stack of file folders icon, you will see a list of all the sets of AR data you have opened from that computer. The paths to the data and their file extensions will be shown.
If you are looking for sets of data you have not used on that system: Open Windows Explorer, go to the drive you want to search, start Windows search and look for ARGLOB.* ARGLOB is the global file present in all sets of AR data and the * means look for any file extension.
